******************************************************************* How to select DD (Device Description) & CF (Capability File) Yamatake Corporation ******************************************************************* This read_me file explains the way to make selections and describes cautions regarding DD files and CF files which are used with our company's Fieldbus devices. Please choose the correct DD file and CF file by referring to the information contained in this file. 1. The name of DD file and CF file A DD file consists of 2 files. One file has a .ffo extension while other has a .sym extension, and both are required for one DD file. A CF file consists of 1 .cff file. The first 4 digits of the CF file name are the same as that of the DD file. 2. Selecting a proper DD and CF file version When selecting a version of a DD file and a CF file, keep in mind there are 2 different kinds of selections depending of the usage. 2.1. If to be used for a new purchase or evaluation research, please use the newest version as shown below. [Model AVP303/AVP203] 0102.ffo --- DD file (1/2) 0102.sym --- DD file (2/2) 010201.cff --- CF file (1/1) 2.2. If to be used for an existing product that has already been purchased, the DD file and CF file can be specified from the Device ID currently applied to the device that will be used. Specifically, the 6 characters after the 16th character of the Device ID (after "YamatakeVP") are the DD file and CF file names which are for your devices. An example of a Device ID --- for SVP3000 Alphaplus Series Smart Valve Positioner Alphaplus is a trademark of Yamatake Corporation in Japan. 0DFC96YamatakeVP010201Y********* The first 4 digits of 6 digits after "YamatakeVP" (010201) are of the DD file name. The entire 6 digits sequence are of the CF file name. 3. Caution The correct DD file and CF file must be used. (Please refer to item 2.2. above to choose correct one.) Neither communication with the host system and other Fieldbus devices nor operation of the device itself can be guaranteed if the wrong file is used.
